Adventure Moto Touring offers a variety of one-day tours for riders or groups who have limited time, but would like to get out and experience Utah on a motorcycle. There are several great rides that can be done around Salt Lake City. If you are going to be in town for business and would like go for a ride, give us a call. If your company or group would like to put a group ride together, give us a call. We can customize the ride for you.

Below are some of the rides available. Please also see our Multi-Day Rides. Some of the day rides can be combined in multi-day rides. We can be much more flexible on these tours, as their is much more room to adjust on the fly. We can discuss the options before the ride and decide what you are most interesting in seeing and how much time you have.

  • Park City via Big Cottonwood Canyon – There is a beautiful canyon just 20 minutes east of  Salt Lake City that takes you to Solitude and Brighton ski resorts. From there we will ride over Guardsmans Pass and into Park City, where 14 Olympic medal events were held in February of 2002. Once we arrive, there will be plenty of dining options for lunch or dinner and you can shop or just explore Park City’s historic main street. There is also an olympic museum, bobsled rides, the alpine slide, chairlift rides to the highest ski jump (7,130) in the world.

  • Heber City via Big Cottonwood Canyon – Taking the same canyon from Salt Lake City, we turn at a fork in the road and head for Midway and then to Heber City. Midway was settled by swiss immigrants and has a rich history. Today the town has many buildings with swiss architecture and a yearly “swiss days” celebration is held in the summer.  There is a natural hot springs cavern that is 65 feet deep and stays a balmy 96 degrees year round. Visitors use it to scuba dive or just take a soak. There are plenty of great dining options in Midway and Heber. A favorite place called “Dairy Keen” offers a “Train Burger” that is a favorite among the locals along with a thick shake.

  • Sundance via American Fork Canyon & Alpine Loop – Sundance is the quant ski resort owned by the famous actor Robert Redford. American Fork Canyon is about 25 minutes from Salt Lake City and offers amazing views of Mount Timpanogos. If you like twisties, this is the place for you! The canyon carves its way through some beautiful Utah mountains and forests, eventually ending in Provo Canyon, where Sundance is located. There a couple exceptional places to get a bite to eat at Sundance. You can take a chair ride up the canyon and there is an awesome waterfall to explore. After visting Sundance, the ride in Provo canyon takes you along the shores of the beautiful Deer Creek Reservoir. From there we have several excellent options to get back to Salt Lake City.

  • Mount Nebo Loop – This canyon is located about 30 minutes from Salt Lake City and is a real treat to ride on a motorcycle. There are nearly 100 miles of twisties in this canyon and plenty of scenic views. You can catch a glimpse of Utah Lake and visit an area called, “Devils Kitchen” which is a little slice of Bryce Canyon. There are many great options to get back to Salt Lake City after riding this magnificent loop.

  • Mirror Lake Scenic Highway – Another amazing ride near Salt Lake City is the Mirror Lake Highway. It starts about 45 minutes from Salt Lake City and about 20 minutes from Park City. This ride takes you through the rugged mountain area know as the Uinta National Forrest, where many locals go to hike, fish, camp and look for wildlife. This highway will take us into Wyoming and the town of Evanston. We would pick up some lunch and then take the 90 minute ride back to Salt Lake City.

  • Stillwater Scenic Loop (Dirt) – If you want to mix a little dirt into the ride and get a dual sport bike. This is an awesome ride through some of Utah’s backcountry. We ride to the town of Hanna, which is about 2 hours from Salt Lake City. Passing the beautiful Jordanelle Reservoir. In Hanna we take a dirt road to Stillwater Reservoir, where we have options to continue on dirt to Moon Lake and connect with the Mirror Lake Highway or pick up pavement. We can then ride to past Starvation, Strawberry and Jordanelle Reservoirs on our way back to Salt Lake City.

  • Little Cottonwood Canyon Tour – This canyon is about 20 minutes from Salt Lake City and takes you to Snowbird and Alta ski resorts. There are some nice short hikes in the area that take you to some beautiful lakes or you can choose to grab a bite to eat in a 5 star restaurant. The mountains in this canyon are very rugged and you can often spot mountain goats along the rocky cliffs during many parts of the year. Bring a pair of binoculars! There is a famous tram at Snowbird that takes you to the top of the resort. This gives you a great view of the entire canyon. This canyon is an out and back with no roads leading out of it, that are legal anyway! This is a great option if you only have half of the day, but would like to experience the Utah mountains.
