Where do I rent a motorcycle?
Adventure Moto Touring can help you arrange a rental for the tour. Most bikes average between $150-$175 per day. We will send you the paperwork and give you some options. It is smart to schedule in advance, so be sure to tell us what type of bike you are looking for during checkout.
How does my deposit work?
Adventure Moto Touring charges a $400 deposit to reserve your spot. If you wish to cancel the tour for an unforeseen reason, the following applies:
- Over 60 days before the tour – full refund, minus $100
- Under 60 – Over 30 days before the tour – 50% refund
- Under 30 Days – No refund
The full price of the tour is charged (less the $400) 14 days before the tours starts.
How much motorcycle experience do I need to have?
Adventure Moto Touring tries to design each tour for a wide variety of motorcycle skill sets. That said, each tour has its own unique challenges. You should study the route and understand the milages that are covered each day. There are rest days, where you can elect to explore the area or participate in other activities. All rest days have the option of a ride as well. Ideally you should have experience riding multiple days, back to back with stops along the way. If you have further questions, please give us a call.
How long do we ride each day?
You can get a good idea by looking over the tour itinerary. We generally leave after breakfast and arrive at our destination in time for dinner. This is subject to change depending on the group.
Typically we ride 100-350 miles per day. Some days are easy, with attractions along the way. Others can be longer, as we try to reach our next destination. The tours are designed to have a balance between the two extremes, with rest days in between.
What is a rest day?
A rest day means that we will stay in the same location for two consecutive nights and we will not switch hotels. Rest day locations are carefully selected. We stop in locations that have historical sights, recreational activities, food variety and scenic excursions that you will need a little more time to explore.
Do I have to follow the tour guide?
No. We recommend that you stay with a partner or two and study the route beforehand if you wish to travel away from the group.
When do I know if the tour is confirmed?
Adventure Moto Touring will give you notice that the tour is confirmed as soon as we reach our target group size for the tour. We reserve the right to cancel the tour if we do not reach our minimum for the tour. We will give you 30 days notice if a tour has been cancelled.
